“You can preach a better sermon with…
“You can preach a better sermon with your life than with your lips.” ~Oliver Goldsmith
The message of my sermon is love. I think my life has been a loving one. I strive to be thankful every day. I hope that those who have interacted with me know that I am thankful they were a part of my life. I am very thankful for the people in my life now.
“True discovery consists not in…
“True discovery consists not in finding new landscapes, but in seeing the same landscape with new eyes.” ~Marcel Proust
Are our lives so busy that we forget to notice the details? Can you drive to or from your home and see something new? Perhaps that is what makes autumn so pretty. The leaves on the trees changing color offers a new landscape in the same landscape we see every day.
“What you can do…
“What you can do is often simply a matter of what you will do.” ~Norton Juster
How many times have we said, “I can’t do that.”? Do we really mean we “won’t” do it? When we are unwilling to do something we limit our possibilities. There are times I limit myself in the smallest ways because I am not willing to do something. I wonder how life would open up if I were willing to do.
“The truly free [person] is
“The truly free [person] is [one] who knows how to decline a dinner invitation without giving an excuse.” ~Jules Renard
Ooo! I want to be that person!
“No matter what accomplishments you achieve…
“No matter what accomplishments you achieve, somebody always helps you.” ~Althea Gibson
I think of all the accomplishments I have achieved. There was always someone there to help. I am so grateful to them for recognizing something in me and encouraging me. My life has been enriched for having crossed paths with them.
Sending out a thank you into the universe to those that have journeyed with me.
“If you tell the truth…
“If you tell the truth you don’t have to remember anything.” ~Mark Twain
LOL. This quote is quite true. Which then begs the question…Can a person live a truth filled life? I mean really. How truthful can you be? Aren’t there little lies we tell ourselves just to make it through the day? What if we didn’t lie to ourselves? Could we really not lie to ourselves?
“If you want something you have never had…
”If you want something you have never had, you will have to do something you have never done.” ~Lou Cassara
This quote intrigues me because I wonder…would I recognize what it is I would have to do? If I have never done it before, would I know what to do?
I think I live a safe life. I like being safe. Very rarely do I step outside my boundaries. So maybe the challenge is asking for something I have never had. I have been give a lot in this life. I am content. Will keep my mind open to new possibilities.
“Forever is a long time, but not as long as it was yesterday.”
Forever just got one day shorter and eternity lasts a lifetime.
“Forever is a long time, but not as long as it was yesterday.”
