Why I am reading: To make the most of my marketing
Which quote: “Marketing is telling people what you do over and over.”
How this quote adjusted my thinking: This concludes my journey through Get Clients Now. This has been such a positive experience. When I began, I was so overwhelmed with all the marketing information I was reading. I was full of negative self-talk, an unclear plan to achieve my goals and a limited action plan. My Get Clients Now coach, Cristina Favreau, was instrumental in helping me find my focus. Now, I have healthier self-talk, a clear plan for achieving my goals and a rich action plan. I am so glad I participated in the Get Clients Now program. I wish you success in your journey.

Why I am reading: To make the most of my marketing
Which quote: “When doing business with the universe, remember that you must place an order if you want to get a delivery.”
How this quote adjusted my thinking: I really have to wrap my head around this one. I have a tendency to be a negative nanny. “Well I put my order in but the universe didn’t deliver!” However, that is not necessarily true. If I am so preoccupied with keeping a scorecard of how the universe has not delivered, I will never see the moments the universe does deliver. This quote inspired me to keep a scorecard of all the moments the universe does deliver. With eyes wide open, I am amazed at how many orders the universe delivers.

Which quote: “If he who has a thing to sell
Goes and whispers in a well
He won’t be so apt to make the dollars
As he who climbs a tree and hollers.” (Anonymous)
How this quote adjusted my thinking:
I thought this was cute. Although, I have to admit, I am the type to whisper in the well. Now that I have read Get Clients Now, I am climbing my tree and finding my voice to holler.
It’s not Failure…It’s Feedback

Why I am reading: To make the most of my marketing
Which quote: “There is no failure only feedback.”
How this quote adjusted my thinking: Ouch. This is quote hurts. I take everything so personally. “Why doesn’t she/he purchase my product? She/He must not like me.” It is not about me. It is about business. Learning to translate perceived “rejection” into feedback allows me to stay focused on my vision.

Why I am reading: To make the most of my marketing
Which quote: “Courage is not the absence of fear. It is the ability to take action while feeling afraid.”
How this quote adjusted my thinking:
This definition of courage resonates with me. I think of how many situations I face where it would be so easy to cop out because I had fear. Courage is acknowledging the inner voice: Yes, I am afraid. No, I will not cop out. I have a plan.

Why I am reading: To make the most of my marketing
Which quote: “You will never be completely ready. Start from wherever you are.”
How this quote adjusted my thinking:
Why do I think I have to be more than I am? I need more education…I need more training…I need more money… What is wrong with starting where I am? Why not enjoy the journey learning along the way?
It is necessary to rest…

Why I am reading: To make the most of my marketing
Which quote: “Thought of the day: Even God rested one day a week.”
How this quote adjusted my thinking:
This quote stopped me. My thinking came to a sudden halt. How could I forget? I hold myself to a standard that often leads me to be working every day. I rarely take a break. This quote reminds me: I hereby give myself permission to take a rest.
Taking a leap of faith

Why I am reading: To make the most of my marketing
Which quote: “Just as Samuel T. Coleridge’s expression ‘the willing suspension of disbelief’ can be the key to enjoying a novel or ply, you can temporarily allow yourself to believe fully in your Special Permission.”
How this quote adjusted my thinking:
This is where it takes a leap of faith. If you are in a rut and not getting the results you want then you have to take a risk. You have to suspend your disbeliefs. Once you do, you will move out of your rut.
Sometimes It Takes Focus

Why I am reading: To make the most of my marketing
Which quote: “We have so many options as to how we spend our leisure time that we jump from one activity to another, never spending any significant amount of time doing the one thing which would actually bring us more enjoyment. Keep the main thing the main thing and while you’re at work, your work is the main thing. When you’re at home, family is the main thing.” by Zig Ziglar http://www.ziglar.com
How this quote adjusted my thinking:
I have been letting this quote resonate with me. I have moved through my life for several days just letting this quote simmer. It just makes so much sense. I am not sure I can articulate the impact this quote can have. When you focus on one thing you get results. If you are trying to multi task or divide your focus your results are delayed or go unachieved.

Why I am reading: To make the most of my marketing
Which quote: “Do yourself a huge favor and choose only those action items that you can actually see yourself doing. Its OK to start right where you are.” by Joan Friedlander http://www.lifeworkpartners.com
How this quote adjusted my thinking:
This quote had a very freeing effect on me. So many times when I am not where I think I should be in achieving my goals I am quick to look at all the things I am not doing. In my way of thinking, if I have two clients and I want two more then I must have to do some cold calling since I do not cold call now. I do not like to cold call and it is not a skill I wish to acquire. After reading this quote, I gave myself permission to let that notion go. I learned to embrace the skills I have and implement the action items I am good at doing.
